This guide helps you to set up Hermann Seib SaviHost with
OP-X PRO-3
for stand-alone use of OP-X PRO-3 in Windows.
1. If you don't have an external audio interface download and install the free asio4all drivers from this site:
https://asio4all.org
2. Download the VST3 64bit version ( savihost3x64.zip ) of Hermann Seib SaviHost from this site:
https://www.hermannseib.com/english/savihost.htm
3. SaviHost needs the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64) to run.
Download it from here and install it:
Download Redistributable
4. Open the downloaded savihost3x64.zip package and copy the included "savihost" file to this place:
My Computer ->
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\OP-X PRO-3.vst3\Contents\x86_64-win\
5. Re-name the red "savihost" file to "OP-X PRO-3":
6. Right-click the renamed SaviHost-file and create a shortcut on the desktop by choosing:
(Windows 11: -> Show more options) -> Send to -> Desktop (create shortcut)
7. Double-click the desktop shortcut which opens SaviHost with OP-X PRO-3.
In the top menu, in Devices -> MIDI choose your MIDI keyboard for Input (Example: E-mu Xboard61):
8. In Devices -> Wave choose your external ASIO-Audio-Interface or if you don't have a one the before installed asio4all driver for output (input: No Wave):
9. For buffer size choose 512 samples (the buffer size always should be 2 power x, so e.g. 128, 256 or 512, more gives too much delay):
10. Click on "OK" and you're done! You now can launch OP-X PRO-3 from the desktop like an app to play.
Done!
PROBLEM SOLVE:
11. If there should be no sound open "Devices -> Asio Control Panel..." from the top-menu:
In the control panel click the gear icon at the bottom right to open the expert settings:
At the op left click on "+" to expand the audio devices.
Here make sure than only one input and one output device is activated::
If you still shouldn't have any sound or you have a red cross at the output device check this site for help:
