NOTE THAT THIS GUIDE IS ONLY VALID FOR THE DISCONTINUED 1.0 VERSION OF THE VM BUNDLE. THE CURRENT NEW 2.0 VERSION HAS A DIFFERENT AND EASIER INSTALLTION ROUTINE. NEW VERSION HERE

VFX Mac beta users: Be sure to test it out with the VM Bundle demo version before you buy to be sure your MIDI drivers are compatible.

It's extremely important that you exactly follow the included Installation Guide!
For visual support have a look at the video guide.

Don't just import and transfer the banks and plugins as you are used to. Follow the guide step by step.

And don't forget to replace the OP-X and Stringer dll on the stick by the Non-GUI ones from "Replacement" before you transfer!

The standard GUI-dlls from VFX can produce audible artefacts when used in the V-Machine instead of the Non-GUI ones!   How to fix

The bundle is conveived for manual placing into the VFX library. Don't use the import function of VFX. Copy it manually as described.

For this you need to know where the library is:

PC - old VFX version:

You need to activate hidden file view before to be able to see the folders. How to do this: See VM Bundle Installation Guide, section "Install".

Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\Your user name\Application Data\vfx\vmachine

Windows Vista/7:
C:\Users\Your user name\App Data\Roaming\vfx\vmachine

PC - new VFX version:

C:\Users\Your user name\Music\VFX Library.vfxlibrary

Mac:

C:\Users\Your user name\Music\V-Machine Library.vfxmachine

To see the contents rightclick or alt click on it and choose "show package contents".

Transfer to the V-Machine:

Don't use the cable method! You need to use a USB stick for this, because it's much faster and allows you to replace the standard dlls with the Non-GUI ones before transferring.

If you forget this and by mistake import the normal GUI dlls from VFX into the V-Machine instead of the Non-GUI ones this can lead to audible artefacts within the V-Machine!

So it's recommended to copy the banks and plugin folders after licensing manually to a stick (into a "banks" and "plugs" folder, see manual) or, if you have a library stick, use the "export to stick" function.

Now, before you transfer, replace the "SonicProjects OP-X.dll" and the "SonicProjects Stringer.dll" with the Non-GUI ones from the "Replacement" folder of the package.

These are a bit smaller in size and have no GUI (graphical user interface) which is needed for glitch free performance within the V-Machine.

On this occasion you also could consider to exchange the banks in "banks" of your stick with the mapped ones from "Premapped" that have a pre-configured CC mapping for all parameters in every preset for immediate tweaking.

All this done the bundle is now ready to be imported!

If you should have imported the GUI dlls by mistake then just delete the OP-X and Stringer plugin again in your V-Machine (using the menu) and import again. For more details read this:

GUI-dll Imported Fix

Every step of course is explained in detail supported with pictures in the pdf installation guide in your package. You can also download it here:

For visual support concerning installation you also can have a look at this video. It's performed on a mac, but the VM Bundle Installation related parts (2,3,5) are the same on PC exept the library location (see above):
